Boat S80 - Catalina 34
Course costs $450
This course
This course is for students who have some sailing experience
or have done a Introduction to Sail Course. Who are keen to get more involved with the sport, purchase
their own yacht, charter a boat or want to become part of a social or racing crew.
During the lessons we expand upon, revise and reinforce many of the skills from the Introduction to Sail Course as well as giving you a real variety of sailing experiences.
On the water you will learn even more nautical terms, how to avoid ferries , weather forecasting, tacking and gybing and the right of way. Learn how to anchor safely, sail
onto and off a mooring, operate a winch safely and how to deal with emergencies. Persons overboard drills
(for the exercise we won't call for volunteers but use a lifebuoy).
We also touch on navigation showing you
how to read a chart and how to steer a basic compass course.
