we are a registered yachting australia centre. to work at the big blue you will need to be a qualified sailing instructor. we run dinghy courses and race programs using 15 new openbic and 6 optimist.
you will also need to hold a valid powerboat licence and first aid ticket. we will need to see proof of your qualifications. it does not matter which governing body issued your certificates.
please note - all staff positions at the big blue sailing school involve working with children and you must be prepared to undertake a 'working with children check'. if you are applying from the uk you will be required to provide a police check or criminal records check. australian work rights - you must hold a valid work right for australia. the most common visa is a working holiday visa. "this is for people aged between 18 and 30 from arrangement countries to have an extended holiday supplemented by short-term employment. important: applicants must have turned 18,but not turned 31, at the time of visa application."people, who have worked in a specified industry in regional australia for a minimum of three months (88 days) while on their first working holiday visa, may be eligible to apply for a second working holiday visa."
if you are granted this visa you can:
.enter australia within 12 months of grant
.stay up to 12 months
.leave and re-enter australia any number of times while the visa is valid
.work in australia for up to 6 months with each employer
.study for up to 4 months
.if you hold a second working holiday visa, you may return to work for a further 6 months for an employer with whom you worked on your first working holiday visa.
"to be eligible for a second working holiday visa, you must meet a number of requirements.
you may apply either while you still hold a first working holiday visa or at a later date."
general requirements you must:

.have completed three months of specified work in regional australia* while on your first
working holiday visa (there is no requirement to do further specified work on the second visa)
.be aged between 18 and 30 years (inclusive) at the time of applying**
.be applying no more than 12 months before you intend to travel to australia,
if applying from outside australia
.not have accompanying dependent children. note: if you have dependent children
you will need to apply using the paper application.
.be outside australia when the visa is granted, if applying from outside australia
.be in australia when the visa is granted, if applying from in australia
.hold a passport for a country or region participating with australia in the working holiday program.
* specified work must actually be done within an eligible regional australia postcode area.
work that is completed in a non-eligible area for a business, whose office or post office box
is in a regional australia postcode area, does not meet the requirement.
**you must be no older than 30 when you apply for the visa, but you may be aged over 30
at the time the visa is granted.
